Revamp Looms in City Hall; Rama Wants back Oliva

Re-elected Mayor Mike Rama has no plans yet whether or not to request the Department of Finance for the reinstatement of Ofelia Oliva as treasurer of Cebu City when he starts to assume his second three-year term as mayor on July 1.

Oliva, who is presently detailed at the regional office of the Bureau of Local Government-Finance, is Rama’s favorite treasurer because the mayor was satisfied by her performance in raising the revenue collection of Cebu City during her stint as city treasurer.

Rama said while he wants Oliva to be his treasurer during his next term, he still wants to discuss it first with his “core group” including his plan to implement a revamp among his department heads.

The mayor already announced that there will be a revamp of his department heads when he assumes office starting July 1, purposely to improve the services of the city to its constituents.
