Records of Burned Vehicle in Danao Puzzles Police
The police investigators are now wondering on why the Land Transportation Office (LTO) does not have a record of the serial numbers of engine and chassis of the Hyundai Sta Fe vehicle that was found already burned in Danao City with two dead bodies inside.
Cebu PNP Provincial Director Noel Gillamac has ordered his investigators to look deeper into the incident and to identify the bodies because there are speculations that the victims were first killed somewhere and were just brought at Barangay Sabang and the killers burned their vehicle.
Superintendent Paul Labra II, acting chief of the Regional Intelligence Division of the Police Regional Office (PRO-7) said his personnel are also doing separate investigation to assist the Danao City policemen and the provincial police investigators.
Because the LTO does not have records of the vehicle’s serial numbers, Labra said there is a possibility that the vehicle is registered, but it was done in some part in Mindanao.
“Sagad g’yud sa mga LTO branches sa Mindanao sama didto sa mga dapit sa Lanao ug sa uban pa’ng lugar dili sila connected sa computer sa LTO mao nga dili dayon makit-an kon i-verify,” said Labra.
Gillamac said they called up the Philippine National Police Crime Laboratory 7 and Highway Patrol Group (HPG) to also help check in their records they have recorded the burned Hyundai Sta. Fe.
“If no record sa LTO so if this happens, possible surplus ni nga sakyanan,” Gillamac said.
Labra said since Hyundai Sta. Fe vehicle is a Korean-made car they are also looking into the possibility that the victims might be Korean nationals, although there is no report yet of missing Koreans in the region.
The police did not discount the possibility that the two bodies were victims of summary execution.
