Real Love

How can I know that God really loves me?

“God so loved the world that he gave his only Son so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

“This is real love. It is not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.” 1 John 4:10

We can know for certain of God’s great love for us because He allowed His Son to die in our place, to take the punishment for our sins so that we could be free from eternal judgment. Think of it: He sent His Son to die for you and I so that we could live forever with Him. No wonder John wrote, “This is real love.”
