Rama Paid Visit to VP Binay
Mayor Michael Rama visited Vice President Jejomar Binay in Manila yesterday (Thursday) to discuss the latest political developments in Cebu City, including his reelection as mayor under the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA)-Team Rama.
After he arrived in Cebu City later in the afternoon, the mayor said one of his purposes in going to Manila was to renew his “ties” with the vice president who headed the United Nationalist Alliance composed of three political groups.
During their meeting, Binay asked Rama how many candidates under UNA-Team Rama that had won in the last Monday’s Automated Local and National Elections.
Rama also briefed the vice president on why the counting of votes of the three remaining precincts from barangays Mambaling, Luz and Cambinocot are delayed affecting the proclamation of the winners for the vice mayor and three slots for councilors.
According to Rama the vice president wished him good luck on his next three-year term after winning against Cebu City South District Rep. Tomas Osmeña.
Rama said he also discussed with Binay several projects to be implemented in the city during his next term of office, but did not offer any more details.
