Rama Addresses Employees During ‘Thrust and Direction’
“It is my dream and I wish your dream also to make Cebu City sustainable and livable city for all,” Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama said before the city hall employees and the city’s uniformed personnel during the “Thrust and Direction” briefing for his second term held last July 8, 2013 Monday at the Social Hall, 4th floor, Legislative building, Cebu City hall.
Mayor Rama also thanked those who supported his re-election bid in the May 13 polls and further said that, “This is my due process, as I consider myself as the new Mayor for my second term and it will be a 3 serious, fascinating, exciting and rewarding years.”
Furthermore, the Mayor encouraged everyone to do their job as public servants and help “straighten what is crooked, beautify what is ugly, clean what is dirty, put fragrance what is obnoxious, and put into order what is chaotic.” the Mayor quoted saying.
Uniformed personnel from the Cebu City Police Office, Cebu City Jail, National Bureau of Investigation, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, and Cebu City Fire Station, among others were also urged by the Mayor to make the city drug free as most of the crimes involved drugs.
“Your duty is to enforce the law and to serve and protect the people, magtinabangay ta alang sa kaayohan sa tanan pinaagi sa Barangayan, Bayanihan ug Boluntarismo, ug atong hinumduman ang MOKADA or Master One, Know All and Do All,” he enthuses.
Mayor Rama spent an hour with two batches, one in the morning and the other in afternoon, in presenting on what he intends to do for the next three years. Supported by a prepared power-point presentation, the Mayor pointed out his long-term vision-mission for the city, direction and development framework, and his platform and targets.
Moreover, the Mayor also shared the same presentation with the Cebu media in the previous week and that he will also share the same with other groups, sectors and city hall employees, among others in the coming days within this month of July dubbed as ‘An Hour with the Mayor’.
