Rainy Weather to Persist in Most of PHL on Tuesday
As the rainy season nears, most parts of the country will experience rainshowers on Tuesday as a result of the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) and tail-end of cold front, state weather bureau Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.
PAGASA said the ITCZ continues to affect southern Mindanao, while the tail-end of a cold front prevails in northern Luzon.
For Tuesday forecast, the ITCZ and tail-end of a cold front will bring cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms over the regions of Ilocos, Cordillera, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Mimaropa and Davao.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening will prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
Light to moderate winds blowing from the southeast to south will prevail over the eastern section of Visayas and Mindanao and coming from the south over the rest of the country. The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate.
PAGASA has not issued any gale warning as the fisherfolk are safe to venture into the seas.
The country’s rainy season generally lasts from June to November. PAGASA urged the public to prepare for the 2016 rainy season, expecting no delay in this period’s onset despite the continuing drought-driving El Niño phenomenon. (PNA) JMC/CLTC/Tresha R. Finianos/Hygeian R. Español (OJTs)
