Rainy Thursday Due to Southwest Monsoon – PAGASA
(PNA) — Most parts of the country including Metro Manila will continue to experience cloudy and rainy weather on Thursday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
PAGASA said southwest monsoon or hanging habagat continues to be the dominant weather system affecting Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
Southwest monsoon which is associated with the occurrence of intermittent to continuous rains is the prevailing wind system during the rainy season.
For Thursday forecast, cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms will be experienced over Metro Manila, Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon) Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan), Zamboanga peninsula, northern Mindanao, Caraga and Leyte provinces.
Light to moderate winds blowing from the northeast to northwest will prevail over northern and central Luzon and coming from the southwest to west over the rest of the country.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms will prevail in the rest of the country.
Meanwhile, PAGASA advisory issued at 6:25 a.m. expect light to moderate with occasional heavy rains affecting Metro Manila (Manila, Quezon City, San Juan, Pasig, Marikina), Bulacan (San Jose Del Monte), Rizal (Cupang) and Bataan (Morong) which may continue for one to two hours.
Expect also light to moderate with occasional heavy rains over Cavite and other areas of Metro Manila, Bulacan and Rizal within the next two hours. (PNA) LDV/CLTC
