PAGASA said rain showers and thunderstorms may fall over Metro Manila and much of Luzon and parts of the Visayas Friday.
From its 5 a.m. bulletin, the state weather agency also said the Northeast Monsoon is affecting Northern Luzon.
Metro Manila, Bicol, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Mimaropa and Samar and Panay Island may have cloudy skies with light to moderate rain showers and thunderstorms,PAGASA said.
It added that Cagayan Valley and Cordillera will have cloudy skies with light rain, while the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
PAGASA said moderate to strong winds from the northeast will prevail over Luzon and Western Visayas and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the east to northeast with slight to moderate seas, it said.
PAGASA also said a low-pressure area was estimated at 250 km east of Catarman, Eastern Samar as of 4 a.m.
PAGASA’s Gener Quitlong said the LPA is likely to hit land without intensifying into a cyclone.
On Thursday, PAGASA warned of possible heavy rainfall over Metro Cebu in a 10:05 am yellow rainfall alert. It said the rainfall alert is due to a low-pressure area that entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility earlier this week.
