Rain Over Visayas; Potential LPA Spotted in East Mindanao-PAGASA
PAGASA on Thursday reported that the Visayas region may experience rain fall, including parts of Luzon, while the weather in Mindanao may improve as the inter-tropical convergence zone (ITCZ) moves away from the region.
However, PAGASA’s Gener Quitlong said they spotted a cloud formation in eastern Mindanao that could possibly become a low-pressure area (LPA).
“May namo-monitor tayong grupo ng kaulapan sa silangan ng Mindanao, sa labas ng (Philippine Area of Responsibility). May pinakitang papasok ito in 24-48 hours,” Quitlong said in an interview over radio dzBB.
Quitlong said their forecast models indicate that this cloud formation is likely to intensify into a low-pressure area. But the potential LPA is not likely to become a cyclone in the next two days, PAGASA said.
