Race Is on for ‘Tour De Takong’ 2018
Ready, set, go! The race is on for this year’s much-awaited stiletto race in the country’s shoe capital–Marikina City.
“Tour de Takong” will take place on December 1, 2018 (Saturday) along Shoe Avenue in Marikina City (from Teatro Marikina to Cityhood Park).
The stiletto race is one of the city’s highlights in celebration of their annual Sapatos Festival, wherein participants are required to wear stilettos instead of the usual running shoes.
Registration is free and open to all Filipinos (male and female) aged 18 years old and above, from Monday to Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm at the Teatro Marikina and Marikina Shoe Industry Development Office (located at the 2nd floor of the Marikina City Hall).
Stiletto shoes of any kind and design with at least three inches in height can be used during the race. Participants are encouraged to wear their uniforms according to their profession. On the other hand, wearing of wedged shoes will not be allowed and stilettos must not be taped on the foot.
For walk-in participants, registration will start at 8:00am on December 1 at Teatro Marikina. Filled-out registration forms must be submitted to the organizers at least two (2) hours before the gun start, which will be at 4:30pm. Participants must also bring a valid ID. Race bibs will be provided to registered participants on the day of the event and must be worn throughout the race. Male and female participants will not run at the same time.
Prizes await winners for both the male and female categories: 1st Place – Php15,000; 2nd Place – Php10,000; and 3rd Place – Php8,000.

· Amazing SHOEperstar (Pabebe-looks)
· Male SHOEperstar (Hunkiest Runner)
· Female SHOEperstar (Prettiest and Most Stylish Runner)
· Oldest SHOEperstar (Oldest Runner Male and Female Categories)
· First five (5) finishers from the uniformed personnel
· First five (5) Star Runners
