Qimonda not Ready for Us – Judge

Court employees and judges will stay at the Hall of Justice grounds even if they have to work inside makeshift tents as Cebu City court workers and judges are not transferring to the Qimonda IT Center, saying it is not yet ready for them.

Regional Trial Court branch 20 judge Bienvenido Saniel said it is not that they will not use the building in North Reclamation Area provided to them by the Supreme Court, it is just that it is not yet finished contrary to reports.

“Naninguha sila nga ma-transfer mi sa Qimonda. Unfortunately dili pa man ready. Kami na pu’y nihangyo nga unya nalang og ma-ready natong Qimonda para kausa ra alsa-alsa,” said Saniel.

Saniel said the building still has no cubicles and offices and that “so many things to consider,” but once everything has been put up, they will move there.

For the moment, the RTC judge said they will have to continue doing sessions and holding offices under the tents.

Court staff and judges have been using the tents since the October earthquake which brought heavy damage to the Hall of Justice building.

“We are functioning only we are limited in some ways . We are in an extraordinary situation that requires extraordinary patience and sacrifice and we are willing to do that. That’s what we told the Supreme Court. Kasabot man sad sila,” the judge said.
