Pulse Asia: 11 Team PNoy, 5 UNA Senatoriables Likely to Win

Pulse Asia’s latest survey resulted probable senatorial winners of eleven candidates from Team PNoy and five from the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA). The survey was conducted last April 20-22, 2013 with 1, 800 respondents.

According to reports, the recent result showed significant change as those as Team PNoy’s Risa Hontiveros and Ramon “Jun” Magsaysay Jr., who have been both behind in previous surveys, made it to the Top 16.

However, it also depicted a “decline in their respective national voter preferences” on some of the senatorial candidates. Nancy Binay suffered a -5.0% percentage points, Jack Enrile got a decrease of -5.2% points, Alan Peter Cayetano also lower down by -8.6% points, Gringo Honasan also suffered -8.9% points while Koko Pimentel got the highest decrease of -9.0% points.

The survey also showed probable winners who are former or incumbent members of Congress.

Senators Loren Legarda and Francis Escudero, who are both re-electinonists, shares the 1st and 2nd place in the senatorial race getting 51.5% and 48.3%, respectively.

Getting a support of 42.4% of registered voters, former Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) Chairperson Grace Poe landed at 3rd to 4th. Senator Alan Peter Cayetano (40.0%), another re-electionist, who despite the decline of votes place at 3rd to 7th spot. Occupying the 4th to 9th places is former Las Pinas Representative Cynthia Villar with 37.7%.

Senator Antonio Trillanes IV (35.8%) and former National Youth Commission (NYC) Chairperson Paolo Benigno Aquino IV (35.7%) shares 4th to 10th places while UNA senatorial bets San Juan City Representative JV Ejercito Estrada (34.7%) and UNA Deputy Secretary-General Nancy Binay got 5th to 11th spots.

On the 6th to 12th places is Team PNoy senatorial bet Senator Aquilino Pimentel III (32.7%). Also from Team PNoy, Aurora Province Representative Juan Edgardo Angara got the 8th to 14th places with 31.2%. Completing the list of probable winners are former Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri (29.7%, 10th to 16th places), Senator Gregorio Honasan (27.9%, 11th to 16th places), Cagayan Province Representative Juan Ponce Enrile, Jr. (27.2%, 11th to 16th places), former Akbayan Party-List Representative Risa Hontiveros (25.8%, 12th to 17th places) and former Senator Ramon Magsaysay, Jr. (25.6%, 12th to 17th places).
