Public-Private Partnership Seen to Boost Economic Recovery in Cebu and CV
The Public-Private Partnership (PPP), or the collaboration of the government and the private sector is seen as an efficient way to further boost the economic recovery in Central Visayas (Region-7) and Cebu.
The whole country is still fighting the COVID-19 pandemic and the economy is one of the greatest aspects that have been affected.
The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Infectious Diseases (IATF), Department of Health (DOH-7), Office of the Presidential Assistant for the Visayas (OPAV), Project Balik Buhay and the private sector already signed an agreement on providing free vaccines.
Chong Hua Hospital, Cebu Doctors Hospital Group, Visayas Community Medical Center, Mendero Medical Center, UCMed, ARC Hospitals, Belmont One, SM Group, Robinsons Land Corp., Toyota Team Cebu, Ramon Aboitiz Foundation, Visayan Electric, Archdiocese of Cebu, Sacred Heart School and the University of San Carlos were among the private entities who signed the memorandum of agreement with the government.
The PPP system in Cebu will serve as a “template” for other provinces in the country for them recover as soon as possible.
Once the vaccine is available for the priority sector, 20 private venues in malls and hotels in Cebu will provide an easy access to the vaccine.
Meanwhile, Region 7 has now a total of 89,670 doses of Sinovac vaccine and 30,000 doses of AstraZeneca intended for all registered health workers in the region. (MLC)
