PSA Conducts Annual Poverty Indicator Survey 2019
The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) conducts the 2019 Annual Poverty Indicator Survey (APIS), the survey started on July 8, 2019.
According to the press release of PSA, the APIS will provide non-income poverty indicators that can be used for assessment of the Filipino family’s living conditions. It is also used as inputs to the Multi-dimensional Poverty Index. It also generates information on the demographic characteristics, education, economic characteristics, housing characteristics, access to safe water supply and sanitation, expenditure and income of the families, and other information that can be used to assess and monitor the poverty situation in the country.
PSA is asking the sample households that will be visited by the field interviewers or statistical researchers, who will conduct the interview, to accommodate them. The National Government Agencies (NGAs) and Local Government Units (LGUs) especially barangay officials are advised to lend assistance and support for the success of this year’s APIS.
All information gathered is kept strictly confidential and will not be used for purposes of taxation, investigation or regulation as provided for under Section 26 of R.A. 10625. (ASC)
