Project Management Course Conducts for Argao and Dalaguete Student Leaders
Nearly 100 Supreme Student Government (SSG) leaders from different National High Schools in Dalaguete and Argao, Cebu, completed the RAFI Center for Leaders’ (CFL) in-school iRipple, a 2-day project management course, last September 30-31, 2022.
Taloot Integrated School, Talaga, Colawin, Calagasan, Cansuje, Mandilikit, and Argao National High Schools participated in the session at Argao. In Dalaguete, the participating schools were Cawayan, Manlapay, Dumalan, Dalaguete, Casay, Caliongan, Mantalongon, and Caleriohan National High Schools.
Through experiential activities and lectures, students were able to learn and appreciate individual roles in a team, which would help strengthen their bond to properly carry out their duties as student government leaders. CFL discussed project management processes and tools to help them deliver projects for their respective schools. Representatives then presented their proposed change projects towards the end of the session.
“I learned that team members play different roles in a team, that such roles or parts are useful to achieve our goal, and that we should optimize them to succeed,” shared Jonjie Q. Jumamil, Dalaguete National High School SSG member and Barkada Kontra Droga (BAKOD) President.
It was also the first time CFL’s iRipple course, under its Youth Development Program, has been conducted since the pandemic struck 2 years ago. iRipple aims to empower leaders by providing them with the knowledge and tools they need to create and implement “change projects” in their schools and communities.
