Program Implementers Review LNEWS-FNS Project
Program implementers assess the effectiveness of the Local Nutrition Early Warning System of the Food and Nutrition Security (LNEWS-FNS) . The review was held on 26-27 September 2018 at One Central Hotel, Cebu City.
Nutrition action officers, local nutrition program coordinators, disaster risk reduction and management officers, agricultural officers, nurses and planning and development officers of the four LNEWS areas in Central Visayas attended the activity. The LNEWS areas in the region included the municipalities of Buenavista in Bohol and Carmen, Dalaguete and Alcantara in Cebu.
The LNEWS-FNS is a component of the Philippine Food and Nutrition Surveillance System intended to enable local government units to take timely nutrition action through early detection of a worsening nutrition situation based on the monitoring of nutrition and nutrition-related indicators. (JBP)
