PRO-9 Adopts ‘Oplan Puntod’ to Ensure Peaceful ‘Undas’
Zamboanga City (PNA) – The Police Regional Office-9 (PRO-9) has placed all its officers and personnel on full alert to ensure the peaceful observance of the All Saints’ and All Souls Days here in the region.
Chief Supt. Miguel Antonio, PRO-9 director, said Thursday they have adopted “Oplan Puntod” to ensure a “zero crime incidence” during the observance of the All Saints and All Souls Days.
Antonio directed the police force in the region to provide maximum coverage and public safety services to include assistance along highways and major thoroughfares as well as other places of engagement and traffic management.
Antonio also directed the police to provide security in churches, transport terminals and in areas where people are expected to converge as well as provide Police Assistance Desks in cemeteries.
Antonio reminded the public not to leave their homes unattended when they travel to the provinces for “Undas.”
They are advised to travel early to avoid traffic and to ensure the readiness of the vehicle for those traveling with their own transportation.
Meanwhile, Antonio has ordered his men to continue the law enforcement operations as stipulated in OPLAN Lambat Sibat such as manhunt operations against wanted person, intelligence–driven operations against criminal groups and suspected terror groups, and the service of search warrants.
He urged the cooperation of the public to ensure a peaceful observance of the All Saints and All Souls Days here in the region. (PNA) CTB/TPGJR
