PRO 7 Names Mandaue City Police Office As Top Unit in Anti-Drug Drive
The Police Regional Office (PRO) 7 has recognized the Mandaue City Police Office (MCPO) as the top police office in Central Visayas in the drive against illegal drugs.
The MCPO bested other police offices of Cebu City, Lapu-Lapu City, Siquijor, Bohol and Cebu Province from July 1 to Oct. 20 this year.
For this, a “Medalya ng Kasanayan” (Medal of Efficiency) was awarded to MCPO Director Roberto Alanas and his 55 personnel for earning the highest rating of 93.78 percent.
Chief Superintendent Noli Taliño, PRO 7 director, pinned the medals on the officials and the non-commissioned officers.
Talino also pinned “Medalya ng Kagalingan” on PO2 Jayson Estrera and PO1 Protacio Man-on Jr. for wounding and arresting suspected drug pusher Marcelo Ferolino in a shootout in Mandaue City last Sept. 30.
MCPO personnel also received cash reward ranging from PHP5,000 to PHP10,000.
Taliño said he has authorized the provincial and city directors to relieve station chiefs who are under-performing in implementing “Oplan Tokhang” and Project High Value Target of the Oplan Double Barrel.
Oplan Double Barrel is an anti-criminality program that aims to catch high-profile criminals or pushers and street-level personalities.
Taliño has relieved 76 of 126 police station chiefs in the region after they performed poorly in the drive against drugs. (PNA) LAP/EB/EDS
