PRO-7 Deploys Police Team in Banakon Island
The Police Regional Office (PRO) – 7 has deployed a police team in Banakon Island in Getafe town, Bohol, which has been tagged as a transshipment point of illegal drugs from Cebu City.
The PRO 7 said the deployment of a team from the Regional Public Safety Batallion (RPSB) 7 in the island will prevent this.
Chief Superintendent Patrocinio Comendador Jr., PRO 7 director, said the shootout in Banacon, Getafe, Bohol last Saturday dawn was legitimate.
During the operation, one of Cebu’s alleged drug lords, Rowen “Yawa” Secretaria, was killed with two of his alleged underlings in a shootout.
Comendador said there were no lapses in their operation because it was Secretaria’s group that opened fire at the operatives first.
“Our police officers went there because of solid information. It means that if those who claim their child has no role with the group, the police will not arrive there just guessing,” he said.
Included in the fatalities were John Jason Montes, 22 and a resident of Ermita, Cebu City. Montes’ relatives denied he was a member of Secretaria’s group.
The other one was Dario Torremocha, who was seen shooting at the operatives.
Secretaria has several underlings who escaped during the shootout.
Secreteria was reportedly one of the drug lords in Central Visayas who can dispose of five kilos of shabu per week. He was third on the list of big-time drug lords operating in the region.
He reportedly surpassed the illegal drug operation of suspected number two drug pusher “Jaguar,” who is still in hiding. (PNA) LAP/EB/EDS
