PRO 7 Chief Says Video Karera, Illegal Drugs Linked

The illegal gambling machines and illegal drug trade are connected, a Police Regional Office (PRO) 7 said.

Chief Supt. Noli Taliño, PRO 7 director, said most of the video karera and moli-moli machines are found in drug dens.

Talino led the destruction of 102 machines on the grounds of Camp Sotero Cabahug, the headquarters of Cebu City Police Office 9CCPO).

Most of the seized machines came from the operations conducted by Police Stations 6, 10 and 11 in their operations last Sept. 16.

The team of Police Station 11 Chief Narrolf Tan confiscated 70 illegal gambling machines in the villages of Mambaling, Basak San Nicolas, and Duljo Fatima, the known place of the slain suspected drug lord Jeffrey “Jaguar” Diaz.

Taliño congratulated the CCPO for the successful operations.

Talino also said three teams of Special Action Force (SAF) arrived in Cebu last Saturday to assist the local police in their operations.

The SAF troopers will also train Special Weapons and Tactics and other elite units.

They will also join in the checkpoints and secure the public when there is a declaration of full alert. (PNA) RMA/EB/EDS
