Presidential Assistant for Visayas Wants to Reopen Malacanang sa Sugbo
Presidential Assistant for the Visayas Michael Dino has said he wants to reopen Malacañang sa Sugbo in Cebu City and make it his office.
Dino said he also wants Malacañang sa Sugbo to become a museum that will be open to the public.
Dino, 47, one of the founders of the Bisaya Napud movement that helped in the social media campaign of President-elect Rodrigo Duterte, said he was “surprised” by his May 16 appointment to the post.
Dino said President-elect Duterte only wants to make sure there’s a Visayan voice in Malacañang.
He said his office will serve as a bridge to lobby for projects in Cebu and the Visayas.
Among them are mass transport system in Cebu, alternative water sources and health services for the poor.
Dino, who a Business Management degree from De La Salle University in Manila, said he doesn’t want his office to be for picture taking only.
“I want to be effective,” Dino said.
But he said he will serve without any fanfare. (PNA) LAP/EB/EDS
