Pres. Duterte to Lead NHA Housing Project Launch in Mandaue City
President Rodrigo Duterte will grace the launching of a P128M housing project in time for the 49th Charter Day of Mandaue City.
For the second time this month, Duterte will visit Cebu for the launching of the low-rise housing project by the National Housing Authority (NHA) and the City of Mandaue.
According to Mandaue City Public Information Officer Jun Veliganio, the project includes the construction of three five-storey residential buildings in a city-owned property in Barangay Looc.
Based on the project brief, the proposed project was conceived to solve tenurial problems of informal settler families.
It is deemed viable and acceptable as there will be no economic dislocation since the beneficiaries live near the area.
The property is also near the basic facilities and amenities.
“In fact, provided in the said project are areas for community facilities, parks and playgrounds, materials recovery facility and parking areas,” Veliganio said.
The project is expected to be completed in 524 working days or in June 2020.
Upon his arrival, Pres. Duterte is expected to be met by 6th District Representative Jonas Cortes, Mandaue City Mayor Gabriel Luis Quisumbing, Vice Mayor Pontico Fortuna, and NHA General Manager Marcelino Escalada Jr.
Davao City Mayor Sarah Duterte-Carpio is also expected to give an inspirational message during the event.
Last week, Duterte was in Cebu as guest speaker of the Visayas Island Cluster Conference of the League of Municipalities (LMP). (fcc/PIA7-Cebu)
