PPCRV Might Cease Releasing Unofficial Count
Election watchdog Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) early evening Tuesday said they are waiting for a word from the Comelec on whether to cease from releasing its unofficial tally of the election returns.
Chairperson Henrietta “Tita” de Villa told reporters that a phone call from Comelec Chair Brillantes will determine whether they will continue to release data to the public. She said that the cease order intends to avoid confusion.
The Comelec has started canvassing at 10 a.m. but the PPCRV has continued to release tallies of the election returns that they receive from the Comelec’s transparency server.
In the past election, Comelec was connected to the main server, but now PPRCV is connected to the same transparency server. The poll watchdog continues to receive data from the server but De Villa said that she still had ‘to check if they can still post the results.
The PPCRV has so far released data from 53,818 precincts out of a total of 78,166.
In its tally on the second day of counting votes since Election Day (Monday), senatorial candidate Grace Poe-Llamanzares continues to be on the top spot of the senatorial race, with Loren Legarda on the second place.
