Potential Cyclone Coming from East may Enter PAR Sunday
A potential cyclone, a low-pressure area, approaching from the east could enter the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) this weekend, Gma News Online reported Thursday.
Report said GMA’s Nathaniel “Mang Tani” Cruz early Thursday reported that the LPA could enter the PAR Sunday afternoon.
“Posibleng magkaroon ng bagyo na papasok sa ating PAR (We may expect a cyclone to enter the PAR),” he said.
Cruz cited data from the US Joint Typhoon Warning Center, saying the LPA is still in the Pacific Ocean and near Micronesia. Cruz added the Japan Meteorological Agency considers the weather system a tropical depression, even as The Weather Company indicated it could enter the PAR Sunday afternoon.
Cruz said that for Thursday, most of the country may expect warm weather, with easterlies or warm winds from the east likely to cause isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, report said.
Should the LPA enter the PAR and become a cyclone, it will be locally codenamed Domeng, said PAGASA forecaster Meno Mendoza.
