Police Regional Office 13: No Security Threat in Mindanao
(PNA) — The Police Regional Office 13 assured the public on Monday that there is no security threat in Caraga Region and that there is no truth to rumors that a certain group is out to destabilize the government in Mindanao.
PSupt. Martin M. Gamba said there are text messages passed around here in the region about such threat but their office had not received such information. He asked the public not to help circulate or pass the said “threatening messages” as this is baseless and may only cause alarm and disinformation.
Supt. Gamba said that they will be the first to inform the public regarding any confirmed or possible threat. He assured that Caraga region is peaceful and that the Philippine National Police and the military are in full control of the situation as far as peace and security of the region is concerned.
Gamba said the PNP and the military share information and are in close coordination to ensure the peace and security of the region.
He at the same time called on the public to report to the nearest police stations any suspicious-looking individuals or groups who are out to disturb peace. Gamba said that accessible numbers are available at every PNP office and stations or one can text to PNP# 2920. (PNA) LAP/NOEL B. NAJARRO/SSC
