Police Nabs Village Official in Drug Bust
Ormoc City (PNA) — Amid report of alleged drug activities in a village in this city, the police conducted a buy bust operation Tuesday afternoon where a village official was arrested.
Police said that Luna village councilman Roland Kent A. Caberos, 41, sold one sachet of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu to a poseur-buyer.
The suspect was driving his passenger tricycle when apprehended. Caberos denied he owned the item and refuted the allegation that he is into illegal drug activities.
Luna chairwoman Norma Lord said that some months ago, despite his fervent denial, she urged him to end his rumored drug activity.
On his arrest, Lord said she was amazed thinking he already stopped.
Due to this, she plans of recommending to the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) that she be allowed of conducting surprise drug test to her colleagues in their village.
Lord said she was alarmed learning that teenagers in their village hoisted the use of prohibited drugs that she desires to put an end.
