Police Charged Avon Rob Try Suspect

The Talisay City police yesterday filed a murder complaint before the Talisay City Prosecutor’s office against one of the suspects for the killing of a security guard in Avon-Tabunok, Talisay City.

SPO1 Mikie Espina of Talisay City Police Station’s homicide section said they already charged Sisinio Merced with murder, and another case for frustrated robbery will be leveled against him in the coming days.

Espina, one of the investigators of the crime, said Merced was positively identified by the eyewitnesses. The investigator added that based on the accounts of the witnesses, Merced, 55 and a resident of barangay Cansojong of the same city, was the gunman, although other suspect, who was still at large as of yesterday, also shot security guard Ramel Bono.

Merced was arrested last Monday, four days after the fateful incident. Espina said it also helped in the investigation the presence of the closed circuit television camera which showed the two suspects, who were supposed to rob the Avon store in Barangay Tabunok Thursday last week.

The rob try was foiled when Bono fought with the suspects resulting to his death.
