The Philippine National Police (PNP’s) Board of Inquiry (BOI) has released its compilation of facts on the Mamasapano incident, where 44 members of the PNP Special Action Force were killed last January 25, GMA News Online reported.

Report said the BOI’s task is to look into the “tactical level” of the firefight to determine possible operational lapses. It also task to look for potential liabilities on the part of those who led the operations, report said.

In the same presentation, the PNP also revealed its operation against Marwan that includes Oplan Wolverine in 2012 and Oplan: Wolverine 3 also executed in Mamasapano, Maguindanao.

As of last week, the board had taken sworn statements from 286 individuals—about two-thirds of its target of 420 people—most of them officers and personnel of the PNP-SAF that took part in the operations, it said.

Reports added that aside from members of the PNP-SAF, who were operating to serve arrest warrants against wanted international terrorist Zulkifli bin Hir and suspected bomber Basit Usman, there were also 18 MILF members and two civilians who died in the clash.
