As school classes nationwide are suspended Tuesday for the observance of the 28th People Power Revolution, all government and private offices are open, thus, all workers will have to report for work.

Malacañang has earlier announced that EDSA day is a working holiday so as not to hamper the daily economic operations of the country.

Last Monday President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino visited the municipality of Loon, Bohol to see the progress of the rehabilitation process implemented by both local and national government agencies.

On Tuesday, the president joins the Capitol officials and employees during the flag raising ceremony at the capitol grounds, where Cebuanons witnessed the dramatization of the annual ‘Salubongan’, a highlight of the EDSA commemoration.

President Aquino will then lead local and government officials to the northern part of the province particularly in Bantayan islands to personally witness how the rehabilitation efforts of the government implemented in the areas affected by super typhoon Yolanda last year.

Malacanang earlier said that President Aquino will also visit Eastern Samar, which is also affected by Yolanda, and Cateel, Davao Oriental, which was also heavily damaged by typhoon Pablo last year.

Presidential Communications Operations Office(PCOO) chief Herminio Coloma Jr. said the President will give importance on rallying the people in areas affected by calamities in order to rekindle the spirit of EDSA People Power in rebuilding better communities. Hence the original plan to hold the event in Malacanang was shelved, Coloma said.
