President Benigno ‘Noynoy’ Aquino III has urged the public to join the National Day of Prayer and Solidarity this coming January 20 for all which is solely dedicated to all victims of tragedies in the country.
According to Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Sec. Herminio Coloma Jr., that the chief executive will spearhead the simple program with a theme “One Nation in Prayer” to be held in Malacañang.
Coloma said that the said activity will also be participated by all government officials as well as those from the different sectors.
He also explained that One Nation in Prayer will mean that Filipinos do respect God, who will guide the nation to a brighter future.
Earlier, President Aquino has acknowledged during the Vin d’Honneur last January 10 in Malacañang all positive comments from the foreign countries who admire the braveness and strength of Filipinos in facing the various trials in life both on natural calamities and man-made politics.
“But despite of all odds, the Philippines still stand with vigor to face the challenges,” he said.
The president said that this is the result of the strong faith and trust of Filipinos to God the Almighty.
It can be recalled that the country was ravaged by the 7.2 magnitude earthquake on October 15 and the strongest typhoon Yolanda on November 8 last year.
