PLLENRO Cites Cadiz City’s Best Env’t Practice
The cities of Cadiz and Kabankalan were recognized for their best environmental practices during the 9th Philippine League of Local Environment and Natural Resources Officer (PLLENRO) national convention held in Davao City.
Cadiz City Environment and Natural Resources Office was cited for its regular general barangay cleaning every Saturday dubbed “Sabado Na, Upod Kita sa Pagpaninlo” or SUP where residents and barangay officials gather and participate in the regular clean up.
Meanwhile, Kabankalan was also recognized for its Upland Greening initiative where scholars, students, government officials, even Non-Government Organizations were tapped for a massive effort to speed up greening efforts with the vast forest reserves and watershed of the city in order to conserve its flora and fauna.
Florentino Caceres, Cadiz City ENRO, in behalf of the city government of Cadiz thanked the Philippine League of Local Environment and Natural Resources Officers for recognizing the Environmental efforts of each LGUs in every region especially the City of Cadiz.
“We would also like to encourage every communities or barangays to be in the forefront in the preservation and management of their respective areas in order to combat the effects of Climate change,” Caceres added.
The recognition is also in appreciation of the local government units’ exceptional contribution to the leagues’ success in promoting environmental management and preservation.
This year’s installment of the Philippine League of Local Environment and Natural Resources Officer national convention features the region’s good environmental practices.
Aside from showcasing the best and effective practices of the local government unit, it is also a manifestation of the common principle of saving the earth. (EAD/PIA-Negros Occidental)
