Players to Expect at the 2014 FIFA World Cup
With the 2014 FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) World Cup kicking off June 12 (June 13 in the PHL), expect some superstar players to bask under the deafening cheers of the excited and sometimes extreme nation-fanatics and followers. Although some players may not be that “super”, but they will be a promising spectacle in the pitch or in your flat screen. Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior (Brazil): The youngest player for the host team is 22 years old known as the “prodigy with the hairstyle and swagger of a carefree rock star”. He was pursued by Real Madrid youth team at 16 and a member of the Seleção at 18. Sports report said Neymar has 31 goals in 48 appearances for Brazil and controversially left off the 2010 World Cup team.

Darijo Srna (Croatia): Croatia’s team captain and most-capped player.Plays professionally for Shakhtar Donetsk. Reports said this midfielder was unsuccessfully pursued by Chelsea and Bayern Munich and said his heart led him to stay in Ukraine. He has a leg tattoo of a deer (or “srna” in Croatian) playing soccer.

Diego Costa (Spain): Reports said that after receiving horse placenta treatment on his injured hamstring, Costa started in the Champions League final only to aggravate the injury and come off after nine minutes.
