Pinamungajan Starts Quarantine

The newly constructed “New Life Center” in Pinamungajan was chosen as a quarantine facility amidst the threat of the 2019 novel coronavirus Acute Respiratory Disease (2019-nCoV ARD).

The said facility is a drug rehabilitation facility but, the local government of Pinamungajan will temporarily use it as a quarantine facility for Filipinos and holders of permanent resident visas coming from any place in China and its Special Administrative Regions like Hong Kong and Macau.

People with little to no symptoms of 2019-nCoV ARD will undergo a mandatory 13-day quarantine inside the said facility. They will be tightly monitored by doctors, nurses and other health workers which will be deployed by the Department of Health (DOH).

The local government of Pinamungajan reminded people who are experiencing the symptoms of the virus such as fever, cough, difficulty breathing and sore throat should seek immediate help to the nearest medical facility.

Meanwhile, there is still no verified case of the virus in Cebu. (MLC)
