Pinamungahan Holds Mobile Photo Contest for 168th Founding Anniversary

Pinamungahan is conducting a mobile photography contest depicting what’s best in the town for its founding anniversary.

Yogi Ygay, Public Information and Tourism Officer of Pinamungahan, said the holding of the contest is in line with the celebration of the 168th Founding Anniversary of the town on Sept. 4, 2018.

With the theme “Wow Pinamungahan”, participants must submit photos taken through their smartphones from January 2018 until present.

“It should follow the theme ‘Wow Pinamungahan’ showing the belief, culture, tradition, places, and people,” Ygay said.

There are two categories of the contest: full color and monochrome.

“There are no fees to be collected for the entries, just let them email it to lgu_pinamungajan@yahoo.com.ph together with a title and caption,” Ygay said.

Since it is a smartphone where manipulations of photos is possible, Ygay said only basic editing is allowed.

This means that the participant can only adjust the size, brightness, and saturation.

Layering, photo manipulation, filters, extensive editing as well as putting of a watermark is not allowed.

Each participant can submit two entries.

Deadline for submission of entries will be on August 29, 2018 at exactly 5:00 p.m.

The announcement and awarding of winners will be on September 4 during the Halandumong Gabie sa Pinamungahan.

They will receive a certificate and a cash prize.

This is the second time that the town came up with a mobile photo contest.

Pinamungahan is located at the southwestern part of Cebu and is approximately 70 kilometers from the capital Cebu City. (fcc/PIA7-Cebu)
