PHLPost Presents Stamps for Two New Saints

Published

on

The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) presented special stamps of new Saints John Paul II and John XXIII to Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio G. Cardinal Tagle.

Earlier last week, PHLPost Postmaster General Josie Dela Cruz presented to His Eminence the frame containing the “Canonization of Blessed John Paul II and John XXIII Special Stamps” at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

According to Dela Cruz, the unique 3D embossed and in gold foil stamp is a fitting tribute to the two most revered Popes in the history of Catholic faith.

The limited edition stamps and souvenir sheets carry the images of the two popular Popes which will be the central figure in Vatican City, with their corresponding emblem at the background.

Some 10,000 pieces of Saint John Paul II souvenir sheets and 5,000 copies for Saint John XXIII were produced by PHLPost.

Souvenir sheets are already on sale at the Post Shop and PHLPost Philatelic & Retail Division of the Manila Central Post Office Building in Liwasang Bonifacio.
