PHL to Receive 5-millionth Foreign Visitor on Monday –DOT
The five-millionth foreign tourist to the Philippines this year is expected to arrive on Monday (Dec. 21), the Department of Tourism (DOT) said in an advisory Sunday night.
DOT said the visitor, whose name and nationality have yet to be revealed, will be arriving at 3:48 a.m. Monday.
“DOT’s 2015 five-millionth visitor is arriving tomorrow, December 21, 2015 via PR103,” an advisory from the DOT and the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) said.
PR103 belongs to Philippine Airlines (PAL).
The department said the visitor will be welcomed in a simple ceremony and interviewed briefly right at the immigration area.
Expected to welcome the visitor are DOT Undersecretary Benito Bengzon Jr. and Assistant Secretary Rolando Canizal.
DOT is eyeing to have 5.2-million tourist arrivals for the country by the end of the year and 10-million by 2016. (PNA) SCS/ANP
