PHL Eyes Expansion of Market Access For Agri Products to Turkey
Department of Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel Piñol expressed his interest for greater market access for Philippine agricultural product following a big demand for fresh fruits.
This was declared during the meeting between the DA Secretary and H.E. Turkish Ambassador to the Philippines Esra Cankorur, recently. The two leaders discussed future collaborations of the governments of the Philippines and Turkey, during the latter’s courtesy call at the DA Central Office on August 24, 2016.
Piñol expressed his interest for greater market access for the Philippine agricultural products following a big demand for fresh fruits. “There is also a great potential for our coconut-based products there,” he said.
The Philippine total agri exports to Turkey amounts to 6.7 million USD based on 2015 figures with desiccated coconut, milk and cream in powder form and tuna in airtight containers. (DA)
