Phivolcs: No Tsunami Threat in PHL
Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology reported there is no Tsunami threat in the country following the magnitude 7.6 earthquake that hit Papua New Guinea Monday morning.
Phivolcs, in its advisory, said there is no destructive Pacific-wide threats based on historical Tsunami data.
Report from US Geological survey said the earthquake hit at a depth of 65 kilometers, about 50 kilometers Southeast of the town of Kokopo in Northeastern part of Papua New Guinea.
