PHILCONSTRUCT Celebrates 10th Anniversary in Cebu

The 10th anniversary of PHILCONSTRUCT Visayas opened in Cebu City on June 6 and ended on June 8. The 3-day event featured leading construction and engineering firms in Visayas that showcase their products and services.

PHILCONSTRUCT Visayas allows industry professionals, business owners and consumers meet and discuss potential partnership.

“Everyone who matters in the construction industry was there. More than 200 suppliers were pleased meeting local engineers, architects, general contractors, developers, property owners, interior designers, and even government procurement heads,” said Engr. Jerry Pancho, Overall Chairman of PHILCONSTRUCT.

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) opened the show with Usec. Rowel Barba, DTI’s chief-of-staff of the Office of Secretary and Supervising Undersecretary of the Construction Industry of the Philippines.

One of the PHILCONSTRUCT Visayas’ highlights was the consistent implementation of the Cebu Contractors Association (CCA) to construction safety by launching latest safety video guides during the ceremony.

“We at CCA value each individual working inside a construction site. Every worker is facing real hazard and therefore each must be knowledgeable and always practice safety precautions in project sites,” stressed Engr. Pet Dakay, President of CCA.

Around 10,000 industry professionals visited the event.

Visitors enjoyed the products and services showcased by different construction firms.

The event also featured various seminars regarding the construction industry to compliment the standard to Visayas’ local professionals.  (MLC)
