PH to Procure 7M Doses of COVID-19 Vaccine in May
Up to seven million doses of COVID-19 vaccines may arrive in the country this month, vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez said.
Galvez mentioned that the country could receive seven million more doses instead of four million this month.
The vaccine czar also reported that people waiting for their second dose do not have to worry because the delivery of one million to two million doses of AstraZeneca vaccines and 1.3 million Pfizer-BioNTech’s shots may happen this month.
Also to be delivered this month are four million doses of Sinovac vaccines from China’s Sinovac Biotech Ltd. and Russia’s Gamaleya National Center of Epidemiology and Microbiology.
As of yesterday, a total of 2,065,235 vaccinated Filipinos with at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
The Philippines ranks fourth among Southeast Asian nations with the most number of vaccinated people with COVID-19, according to Our World in Data. (ASC)
