PH to Get Improved League of Legends Servers, Riot Games Says
Riot Games, the developer behind the popular online game League of Legends (LoL), is set to bring significant improvements to the gaming experience for players in the Philippines as the developer said that they will implement an upgrade to the Philippine (PH) server, offering lower ping and faster connectivity for both League of Legends and Teamfight Tactics (TFT) players.
The upgrades to the connectivity will allow Filipino LoL and TFT players to experience 15-25ms ping gaming, a significant improvement from the current 45-50ms.
This upgrade will be facilitated by the addition of PH local servers in Manila, designed to optimize the gaming experience and enhance connectivity for players across the country.
“We’re working hand in hand with local companies to install game servers in Manila for League and TFT, which will allow for average ping speeds of 15-25ms for players here in the Philippines. While notable improvements can be expected across the country, some players in central Manila may even experience pings under 15ms,” the Riot Games statement read.
Moreover, Riot Games said that there will be no server downtime for the implementation of the server improvements, which players may expect to roll out in the middle of August.
“Players can start to experience improvements from the middle of August onwards. We don’t anticipate any server downtime and there won’t be any special steps that players have to take,” the statement added.
The Philippines has been a focus for the developer as of late. Advertisements for Valorant, a popular Riot Games shooter, in the Filipino language, are rampant across social media channels, while moves such as improving dedicated Philippine servers only add to the emphasis the developer has given the country.
