PH COVID-19 Cases Dropping, 2,196 New Cases Logged
The Department of Health (DOH) reported 2,196 new COVID-19 cases Thursday, February 17, which marks the fourth day that cases in the country have dropped to below the 2,000 mark.
Wednesday’s COVID-19 cases was logged at 2,671.
Moreover, DOH logged the country’s total active COVID-19 cases at 66,588, in which around 93 percent are made up of mild and asymptomatic cases.
Mild COVID-19 cases were logged at 60,848, while those with moderate symptoms are at 2,913. Severe cases number at 1,428, while asymptomatic cases are at 1,428.
309 individuals are currently at critical conditions.
Meanwhile, DOH tallied the total number of recoveries at 3,524,875, including the 4,409 new recoveries logged Thursday. This brings the number of recovered cases to 96.7 percent of all COVID-19 cases in the country.
107 deaths were also logged Thursday, brining the total number of deaths caused by the virus at 55,330, which equates to 1.52 percent of all confirmed COVID-19 cases. (GFB)
