PH Army Sends Help in Rehab Efforts in Typhoon Hit Areas
As rehabilitation efforts continue in the typhoon-ravaged areas in the country, the Philippine Army (PA) has sent several of their officers to aid in the efforts.
PA announced that they deployed the Cebu-based 53rd Engineer Brigade (53EBde) to aid in the rehabilitation of the areas affected by typhoon Odette.
“The Cebu City-based 53EBde has been conducting humanitarian assistance and disaster response efforts in calamity areas since the typhoon “Odette” swept through Northeastern Mindanao and the Visayas in mid-December 2021. A total of 32 teams composed of 224 Army personnel from the brigade are currently deployed to assist in clearing, rehabilitation, and delivery and distribution of relief goods in Cebu City and nearby provinces, Bohol, Negros Occidental, Northern Samar, and Southern Leyte,” PA said in a Facebook post.
Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner Jr. lauded the 53EBde for their humanitarian efforts in the typhoon-stricken areas in the country.
“The spirit of ‘Bayanihan’ remains very much alive. Rest assured that the Philippine Army —hand in hand with national government agencies, local government units, and private sector partners —will continue to help our typhoon-stricken countrymen get back on their feet.” Commanding General, Philippine Army (CGPA) Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr. said. (ASC)
