PDEA 11 Arrests Davao Oriental Big-time Drug Pusher with PHP4.5M Drugs
Davao City (PNA) — The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) here arrested an alleged big-time drug pusher of Davao Oriental and seized more or less 500 grams shabu with an estimated street value of PHP4.5 million.
Arrested during a buy-bust operation against illegal drugs along Nazareno Street, Central Poblacion, Mati City, Davao Oriental last Friday was a certain Estela Salazar Pormanis, 40, married and a resident of Purok Ilang-ilang, Upper Salazar, Barangay Central, Mati City.
Pormanis is now detained at Mati City Police Station detention facility while the seized suspected illegal drugs were submitted to Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office 11 Laboratory for qualitative and quantitative examination. PDEA is also set to file charges against Salazar for violation of Republic Act 9165 otherwise known as The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The apprehension of Pormanis was a joint effort of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 11, Eastern Mindanao Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (EMCIDU) 11, Aviation Security Group 11, Mati City Police Station and Air Intelligence Security and Squadron of Philippine Air Force.
In a press statement, PDEA 11 spokesperson Noli Dimaandal said that the collaborative effort of the law enforcement agencies and the community serves as a warning to all drug perpetrators operating in the region that the law enforcement agencies and the community are closely working together and always vigilant in the fight against illegal drugs.
