Sanchez left for Toledo City yesterday afternoon to visit the wake of Capt. Claudio and Councilwoman Irene Wamelda.
Wamelda died after being ambushed late Monday afternoon by three gunmen in a motorcycle while inside a multicab driven by her live-in partner barangay chairman Alexander Alqueza.
Alqueza survived the attack but was in critical condition after he sustained four gunshot wounds in his head and arms after the attack.
Local police are still looking for motives of the ambush.
