PB Okays P3.569M for Barangay Projects

The Cebu Provincial Board (PB) approved at least 33 resolutions during their regular session on February 2 for the implementation of several projects in the barangays and Local Government Units (LGU) in the province.

The projects with a total amount of P3.569 million will be funded by the 20-percent development fund for Calendar Year 2015 under the Office of the Governor.

More rehab projects

Liga ng mga Barangay President and PB Member Celestino “Tining” Martinez III sponsored a resolution for 16 projects amounting to P425,000.00, specifically for rehabilitation of roads, water systems, multi-purpose buildings and street lighting.

PB Member Carmen Durano-Meca endorsed three resolutions for the improvement and renovation of daycare centers in Danao City, two resolutions for construction of cross drainage in Barili and construction materials for a multi-purpose building and one resolution for the purchase of medical equipment for the barangays in Danao City, all amounting to P880,000.00.

Through PB Member Arleigh Sitoy’s resolutions, Barangay Bangbang, Cordova and Barangay Garing, Consolacion will each receive P50,000.00 as financial assistance for the rehabilitation of a multi-purpose building and drainage system, respectively.

Furthermore, Barangay Looc in Danao City will received P30,000.00 for the pipe laying projects as endorsed by PB Member Jude Durano-Sybico.

New projects

PB Member Peter John Calderon sponsored five resolutions for the projects to be implemented in Ginatilan, Moalboal, Malabuyoc and Ronda.

Municipality of Ronda will receive P1 million for the purchase of one unit ambulance.

A P200,000.00 assistance will be given to the town of Malabuyoc for the development of Mainit Springs and its cultural heritage.

For Barangays Cagsing and Calabawan in Ginatilan, each will get P100,000.00 for waterworks project and construction of an extension of a health center, respectively, while Barangay Lanao, Moalboal will get P20,000.00 for the construction of a multi-purpose building.

The board also approved PB Member Christopher Baricuatro’s resolution on the re-alignment of P20,000.00 financial assistance of Barangay Campisong, Ginatilan initially intended for concreting of footbridge and now for the purpose of purchasing two handheld radios.

For PB Member Raul Alcoseba, the amount of P664,200.00 financial assistance will be used for various projects in barangays in the first district.
