PB Approve P50k Aid for Families of Two Fallen Cebuano SAF Members
The Cebu Provincial Board approved yesterday P50,000 as financial aid for the families of two fallen Cebuano members of the Philippine National Police-Special Action Force (PNP-SAF).
PO1 Windel L. Candano of Dumanjug and PO1 Romeo C. Cempron of Consolacion were among the fatalities of 44 SAF police personnel during the bloody firefight with Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) and Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) in Mamasapano, Maguindanao last January 25, 2015.
The resolution was sponsored Vice-governor Agnes Magpale.
Board members Christopher Baricuatro, Miguel Magpale and Sun Shimura endorsed similar resolutions expressing their grief and sympathy to the families, relatives and friends of the two fatalities.
Vice-Governor Magpale said the amount will be sourced from the governor’s office.
The remains of Cempron and Candano were flown home to Cebu last Saturday at the Mactan Airbase and were accorded arrival honors with police officials.
Governor Hilario P. Davide III, Dumanjug Mayor Nelson Garcia and Consolacion Mayor Teresa Alegado were at the airport comforting the families of the victims.
