PayMaya Further Embraces ‘New Normal’ with Digital Payments
Online mobile app PayMaya embraces the “new normal” by shifting to a digital payment system amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
28 million customers who remitted in over 200,000 touchpoints were able to pay “cashless” by the end of the year 2020.
The new system is touted as a more convenient and accessible way of payment especially in a timely manner where physical interaction is discouraged as much as possible.
PayMaya also expanded its Smart Padala network with 33,000 agent touchpoints throughout the whole country making it possible for everyone, especially those who are residing in remote places to make their payment conveniently.
“No other fintech company has built this inclusive ecosystem of products, services, and touchpoints that reach a vast majority of Filipinos nationwide,” said PayMaya President Shailesh Baidwan.
Meanwhile, PayMaya’s new initiative strongly supports the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas’ to increase the digital payment share to 50% including all retail transactions. (MLC)
