Pasacao Town Holds 1st Tourism Summit

More than 300 stakeholders, including students, beach resort owners, environmentalists and tourism advocates, mostly Pasaqueños and different national and regional offices, national government agencies and business leaders from the cities of Naga and Legazpi took time to attend the 1st Pasacao Tourism Summit held February 24 at the municipality’s covered court.

Pasacao Mayor Niño Tayco extended his gratitude to everyone who supported this environment and tourism endeavor, particularly the officers and members of the Pasacao Owners Association. The group is one of the busiest and most active organizations that help the municipality in promoting its pristine beaches and rich flora and fauna resources.

“We want to raise the awareness of our constituents how important and significant it is that we have Paraisong Pasacao to nurture. The 1st Pasacao Tourism Summit will give new insights, innovations & tourism awareness to our partners. We also want to promote the importance of supporting advocacies that stimulates love for the environment vis- a- vis our mandate to promote tourism in our beloved Pasacao,” Tayco said in an interview.

Tayco also reiterated that the promotion of tourism, provision of employment or job opportunities for his constituents and support to various business endeavors remain as top priorities under his administration.

The event was held a few days before the love month wrapped up to specifically highlight the love for nature and promote the sacrifices that the vanguards of the environment are doing just to keep Mother earth alive and intact for the use of the future generation.

Pasacao Tourism consultant Ninoy Dy- Reyes is also thankful that the local government unit under the headship of Tayco is fully supportive of the tourism road map he has created and extends his full support to ensure its realization and success, the recently held 1st tourism summit, being one of them.

Reyes also shared his knowledge on destination branding and gave an overview of the summit. Other invited speakers include 2013 Ms. Earth finalist and TV personality Dominique Lagrimas who discussed the importance of environment and tourism advocacy and Naga City Arts, Culture and Tourism Chief Alec Francis Altea Santos who spoke on the best practices of a tourist friendly city and the significance of Pasacao’s alliance with Naga in their tourism activities.

World renowned and multi-awarded chef, United Nations Ambassadress and Junior Master Chef finalist Louise Mabulo also gave the participants talk on culinary tourism and importance of a disaster-resilient tourism destination. (MAL/LSM-PIA5/Camarines Sur)
