Parts of Cagayan Valley Cut Off From Power due to ‘Mario’ Onslaught
Manila (PNA) – Some parts of Cagayan Valley have been cut off from power due to the onslaught of Tropical Storm “Mario.”
The National Grid Corp of the Philippines (NGCP) in an advisory said bad weather has downed the following transmission lines and facilities as of 1:00 p.m.:
Magapit – Sta. Ana 69-kiloVolt (kV line); Affected Customer/areas: CAGELCO II / parts of Cagayan, including Buguey, Sta. Teresita, Gonzaga, and Sta. Ana; and
Tuguegarao-Solana-Tabuk 69-kV line; Affected customer/areas: CAGELCO I and KAELCO / parts of Cagayan, including Tuguegarao City, Kalinga and Conner, Apayao.
NGCP said it continues to inspect, assess, and repair its lines and facilities affected by the passage of the typhoon.
Inspection and restoration of lines in the affected areas will be in full swing today as soon as the weather allows, it said.
The NGCP said that there are still no estimates on the time of re-energization. (PNA) FPV/JLD
